Sidewalk Cartomancy: A Pocket Reference Guide Series
$3.00
Cartomancy is the use of standard playing cards for the purposes of fortune-telling and divination. These three pocket guides presents a variation on that ancient practice – a resource for the infrequent but not uncommon occurrence of glancing down while walking somewhere, and seeing a lone card or lottery ticket on the ground looking back up at you. This pocket guide, meant to be carried at all times in your wallet or purse, is a quick way to consult a millennium’s worth of cartomancy tradition, and provide to you the tools to interpret these sign right on the spot.
Vol. 1: Playing Cards (BP012)
The original! A guide to a self-contained interpretation of an individual playing card, based on the number and suit.
Vol. 2: Pokemon Cards (BP018)
There are over 1,000 Pokémon cards, and ascribing a unique divinatory meaning to each would be beyond the scope of this project. Instead, this guide directs the interpretation of a single Pokémon card as a one-card "Celtic cross," drawing on its various elements (type, weakness, hit points) to make your reading.
Vol. 3: Lottery Tickets (BP019)
The symbols we associate with lottery tickets come from slot machine imagery, which was influenced by playing cards; it’s a direct line from a spade or diamond (or wand or cup) to a horseshoe or cherry. Unlike playing or Pokemon cards, individual lottery tickets contain enough symbolism for a full "Celtic cross" spread. Works with scratch-off-style tickets with symbols only, lotto-style tickets with numbers only, or tickets with both elements.
Conveniently sized for your wallet at a compact 3.5" x 2", this pamphlet folds out to 4" with an interior table of elements (suits, numbers, symbols, etc.) and their corresponding meanings. Shipped USPS First Class in an envelope.
Buy one for $3, or all three for $7.
